Carson Wentz Says Goodbye to Indy; Former Teammates Show Love in Comment Section

Carson Wentz has posted his goodbye letter on Instagram; thanking Colts Nation for his brief stay in Indianapolis.

In his letter, he also mentions looking forward to his time in Washington, citing the rich history of the organization and "roster full of talent." He goes on to say that he will do everything he can to prepare for a special season.

Reports on Wentz have been all over the place...from claims of Wentz not being a good teammate to head coach Frank Reich apologizing for convincing the Colts' brass to trade a first round pick for the quarterback. It hasn't all been bad, as some reports say Reich and Colts GM Chris Ballard both wanted Wentz to return, but owner Jim Irsay was against bringing him back.

Something that jumps out at me are the verified comments on his goodbye post. His Colts teammates have no obligation to publicly write any kind words about their former teammate, but many have. Below you'll see comments form Pro Bowlers Ryan Kelly and Darius Leonard. Receivers Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell also chimed in.

The trade will be made official later this week.

He played for the Eagles for five seasons before the Indianapolis Colts traded a 1st round pick for him last year. He went 9-8 with 28 total touchdowns and just 7 inteceptions. Next season he will play the Eagles twice and travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts on his revenge tour. Here's why this move is a lot better than some would think: • He is 44-40-1 as a starter and has thrown 140 touchdowns compared to just 57 interceptions. Has also rushed for 9 additional touchdowns. • A lot of people will say he’s injury prone, and while he has been h...
